Hammerhead has extremely poor eyesight; it never developed owing to the low visibility caused by dust from volcanic activity. Instead, Hammerhead can sense other creatures through thermal imaging and electro-location in the tusks that give him his name. These tusks, although mainly used for electro-location, are also used when engaging in combat with other creatures. The front carapace, protecting its head and brain, are extremely tough and resilient. It has a tough, leather hide which also offers protection, although less so than its front carapace. Its muscular body aids speed when hunting down and charging prey.
